LONGEVITY
The second criteria in our G.O.A.T. analysis is longevity, which is how long a player can play at their peak throughout their career. In this category, LeBron taking the lead seems like a no-brainer as he has played more seasons in the NBA than Jordan did and has a more extended peak. According to The Sporting News, Jordan's peak lasted about 10 years, while Lebron's has lasted 17 years with potential to continue his streak. Our research points to LeBron having often adapted his playing style to his current circumstances and has become extremely durable to injuries, only missing significant playing time in 2019. In fact, according to ESPN's Brian Windhorst, LeBron reportedly spends $1.5 million per year on his body which undoubtedly is another reason he can maintain his peak performance year-round at the age of 37.
